Don’t Miss This Week’s HRchitect WebMingle with Lori Morgan and Greg Strange of FireWave Technology

February 17, 2010

The weekly HRchitect WebMingle is designed to give you some insight into the puzzling world of HR technology, discuss news from around the world that we find interesting, talk about upcoming events in our industry, and provide insightful interviews with people of our industry – who they are, what they do and why you should care. The WebMingle has become the most popular live weekly Internet show in the HR technology industry!

The WebMingle has truly redefined how people get information about vendors, trends and really anything related to HR technology and we are very proud of that.

This week’s guests are Lori Morgan, Founder & President, and Greg Strange, Co-Founder & SVP Product Strategy with FireWave Technology.

FireWave Technology is an innovative software firm focused on delivering sensible technology services to the SMB market. Its flagship product ClearVision performance management provides businesses with an essential tool for introducing and managing an effective employee performance appraisal program. FireWave’s goal is to not only deliver the tool to aggregate data for easy analysis, but also allow for the process to flow with ease for team members at all levels of the organization.

Lori Morgan co-founded FireWave Technology after spending several years with a Dallas-based talent management software company. It was during this time, she learned a great deal about the software and Human Resources field and developed a passion for the industry. Having spent most of her career in organizations with less than 100 employees and having owned a small business herself, Morgan recognized a need for affordable, easy-to-use HR software to manage the performance review process.

Greg Strange has been in the software industry for 15 years, the last 6 in HR decision support software such as performance management, applicant tracking and career development and succession planning. Recently, he co-founded FireWave Technology as Vice President of Product Strategy and Operations building ClearVision Performance, the first in a long line of much needed HR software tools for small and mid-sized businesses.

Congratulations to our Talent Management Systems Beauty Pageant Winner – Salary.com!

February 12, 2010

On Friday, February 12, 2010, HRchitect held the 12th installation in our Beauty Pageant webinar series, this time focusing on talent management systems. Participants included leading vendors in the talent management systems world – Jobpartners, Salary.com, and Workstream. Others were invited but apparently frightened to get up on a worldwide stage and unfortunately one was scheduled but dropped out at the last moment due to nerves, or perhaps scandal – we just don’t know.

At the end of the webinar, which featured a short overview of HRchitect and some definitions and observations on the HCM and talent management space, Salary.com was crowned the winner. HRchitect would like to thank the vendors for participating and the attendees for judging the contestants.

HRchitect’s Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Tiffany Appleby, once again did her usual tremendous job in ensuring the pageant ran smoothly. It’s not an easy task coordinating each vendor’s presentation, setting up rehearsals, and then running the program the day of the event!

The HRchitect beauty pageant series of webinars has become the buzz of the industry since its debut in November 2008. This series of webinars covers a different area of HR technology with each event. The concept allows attendees to see presentations from up to six leading vendors in a fun and informative format where the audience votes on the winner at the conclusion.

As an interesting side note, Human Resource Executive columnist, Bill Kutik, must have somehow seen this victory in his crystal ball as he wrote in his column this week about Salary.com widening their “functional footprint faster than any other in the market.”

Past Winners:

In November, iCIMS won the Talent Acquisitions Systems pageant and Cornerstone OnDemand won the Talent Management Systems pageant. Then in December, GeoLearning won the Learning Management Systems pageant. In January, we had our Mid-Market Talent Acquisitions Systems pageant and iCIMS was crowned the winner and our Onboarding pageant where SilkRoad was the winner. In February we covered Employee Performance Management where SumTotal Systems won and then mid-market HRIS where Spectrum HR was the winner. In March it was all about Workforce Planning Systems and Infohrm walked away with the crown. April brought us Compensation Systems where Workstream walked away with the crown and then we finished up the first leg of beauty pageants with Time & Attendance Systems in June, where Legiant was crowned the winner. Last August (2009), HodesIQ walked about with a  Talent Acquisition Systems crown.

To view any of the past pageants, please visit the beauty pageant part of our website.
